Eating Healthy Now a “Mental Disorder”

HealthyEatingKids

In what is very clearly a last ditch attempt to maintain profits and financial control, psychiatry has invented yet another new “disorder.” This psychological problem targets healthy eating and a disgust for chemically processed and highly toxic food.

In this blatant ploy to stop the growing trend toward healthy foods and away from fast food, Psychiatry has launched a campaign trying to paint healthy as wrong. But what could be bad about eating healthy, nutritious, wholesome foods full of the vitamins and nutrients your body needs?

“Orthorexia nervosa,” is the new term defined as, “a pathological obsession for biologically pure and healthy nutrition.” This means that if you prefer fresh veggies to chemically processed food full of cancer-producing toxins and GMO ingredients then you’re sick. If you choose healthy meals or organic food over McDonald’s, you need help. If you are concerned with good nutrition and taking care of your body, you should be medicated.

But we all know that’s not true. The money ploy could not be clearer than if psychiatrists were flashing a neon sign. What is their solution for every “disorder?” Medication. That same medication that is in direct opposition with aiding your body in a drug-free and natural way. And the field of psychiatry has strong ties with the pharmaceutical industry that makes the drugs to “treat” the disorders.

In an attempt to make healthy people look bad, Thomas Dunn, associate professor of Psychology at the University of Northern Colorado said the disorder is, “linked to people who are trying to be as healthy as they can be.”

If you believe that line, you will be prescribed pharmaceutical drugs known to be highly toxic with a list of side effects a mile long, those same toxins you’re trying to avoid by eating healthy.

Psychiatry publishes the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) which is somewhat regarded as their bible of disorders. Orthorexia must be too new to have made it into there yet, but when it is, we’ll be able to see all the ways that our healthy and life-saving lifestyle is “bad”.

So while the money-hungry corporations are trying one more way to control the population, don’t be fooled by this seemingly authentic disorder. The mental illness is as fake as a McDonald’s chicken nugget.

Feel free to contact Dr. Shapero and ask him if eating fresh fruits and vegetables, along with exercise would be right for YOU.

Is KickStart the New Breakfast of Champions?

kickstart
If you’re thinking of giving your kids PepsiCo’s new breakfast juice drink, you might want to take a close look at the ingredients before you head for the store.
The drink is called KickStart and is a mixture of Mountain Dew and juice. With flavors like Energizing Orange Citrus and Energizing Fruit Punch, you might get the idea that it actually contains quite a bit of juice. But, in fact, the juice totals just 5 percent.

What Else is in KickStart?

• High fructose corn syrup

• Artificial sweeteners – although each can still manages to have about 5 teaspoons of sugar

• More caffeine than regular Mountain Dew

• Artificial flavors – the ingredients of which are not disclosed

• And a plethora of other chemicals.

KickStart gets its color from dyes known as Yellow #5 and Yellow #6 – the same chemicals that color the country’s favorite brand of macaroni and cheese.
Both Yellow #5 and #6 have caused hypersensitive reactions in children, while #5 has been specifically associated with hyperactivity and other behavioral problems, and #6 caused adrenal tumors in animals.
Really, the drink is a concoction of chemicals, some of which are known to be very unhealthy, but the 5 percent juice content apparently allows the company to call it a juice drink.
Also, the product is being marketed to kids – skateboards are major players in the commercials. So you know your kids are going to ask for it.

Don’t let the ‘juice’ part fool you.
This product is far from the only breakfast food or drink that masquerades as healthy. If you would like more information on what a good breakfast for your kids really is, consult our office. Dr Shapero has been working with children for over 25 years.

Abandoning GMOs?

While consumers fight for labeling, and activists publicize the adverse health effects of consuming genetically engineered food, it looks like the genetically engineered seed industry may be taken down by the most powerful force of all: economics. Some U.S. farmers are considering returning to conventional seed after increased pest resistance and crop failures resulted in smaller yields globally for GMO crops compared to their non-GMO counterparts. Farmers in the U.S. pay about $100 more per acre for GM seed. Many have begun questioning “whether they will continue to see benefits from using GMs,” according to Farmers Weekly. Countries around the world that do not use GM seed are outperforming U.S. Farmers.
